@jamespg1993 ...you conveniently leave out that Georges Lemaitre was an astronomer and professor of physics. So, I highly doubt that he used his religious background to theorize the big bang. But I agree with you on the main point: Religious people are NOT necessarily idiots. Some are and some aren't... just like you will find in most groupings of people.

the big bang theory was though up by a priest. martin luther king was also a smart he knew how to lead marches he wrote speeches and he was a reverent Malcolm x was a Muslim the list goes on so where do you get the idea religious people are idiots even when the 1st people who started questioning faith were religious people and leaders.

@numberman52 what gives you the right to say someone is stupid in believing in a God if someone wants to believe in what ever then let them and just because you believe in a God does not make you stupid Gandhi led thousands of people he is looked as one of the greatest heroes ever to live and he was a hindu darwin was a christian even when he had the idea of evolution he turned atheist only because he could not imagine why a God would let his daughter die.
