@Speedymac1986 I could be wrong, but my guess is they have the throttle set to FLEX which is baiscly a fuel efficient mode, so it takes the aircraft longer to get to VR. I may be wrong though, i'm not a A320 pilot.
The Captain holds the throttle until V1. At every airline it is different. Some will allow the First Officer to hold it, while some require the Captain to do so.
