It's a grim situation, and sickening to say the least. But it's a different country and a totally different society, on the other side of the world. Do we have the right to interfere? I don't feel that we do, even though we WANT to. And as Allen mentioned, we have people right here in our own country who desparately need help and can't get it. Until we can take care of our own, we shouldn't try to take care of the rest of the world. Just my nickel's worth...

I understand what you are saying but you are trying to apply logic to the weird politics going on in other parts of the planet. It doesn't make any sense to me either. Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Sudan... even China. People seeking personal gain by suppression, abuse, and domination of the general populace. But this has been going on for centuries. As messed up as things are in this country, be very thankful.
