While relaxing at Camp Muir on July 15, 2009 @ 4:30pm we watched a large boulder fall from the Cowlitz Cleaver onto the Cowlitz Glacier, crash through the far wall of a large crevasse, and come to rest directly on the climbers' boot path.

You can see in the final picture that the boulder was about 5-6 feet in diameter.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I climbed Rainer a few weeks ago and I saw this bolder... Well, I'm pretty sure I saw it- it was the biggest one there.
