311 - Come Original [Bass Cover]

Hi there!
As I said in my previous videos, I'm still in Brasil for the tour with Organi'C, BUT right now I'm in holidays for 2 weeks, so be prepared for more covers ;-)

This time is the time for some 311 action!
I always loved this song, but recently a friend made me listen to it again and again; as soon as I heard the bassline from the verse I thought: I have to make a cover of this song!
Soooooo, here is my attempt at Come Original, learnt by ear as usual! :)

I used my Tuscany Swing White Bass, MarkBass Compressore and SansAmp BDDI. The sound is recorded through my Presonus AudioBox USB.
(sorry for the little mistakes!)

hey david here are some of the questions maybe you can help me =D :

1) which mode do you usually set your swing bass? in active or passive mode??

2)have you got any money(salary) for the brasil tour with organi'C??

3)do you compose all of the great songs of deep kick??

hey!

I always set the bass in active mode, usually I'm flat but still, the sound is different than in passive mode, I'd say it sounds "bigger".

with the tour in brasil I win some money yes, but honestly it's not big money, but it's enough to pay the flight tickets and the band expenses (amps, food, hotels and stuff)

and finally yes, I usually come up with the bass lines and the structure of the songs and give it to my band mates! then I do the lyrics or fantin does, it depends!

Awesome video as always David!! But I just don't get how do you get that deep fat round tone playing on the bridge Pickup!! it's supossed to sound the opossite! How's that possible?

thanks a lot for the comment! well, I think I can get this tone mostly because this bass is active! I put the treble flat but boosted the bass a bit on this song, and I put the balance knob in the middle so both pickups are on..
