Imam Hussains (Radiyallahu Anhu) Mowlid

Although Muslims from the Indian Subcontinent celebrate the departure of the Saints, the Arabs celebrate their births (some places, I believe, celebrate both).

This is, at least, what I think. The annual date of this Mowlid ("Birth Celebration") of Imam Hussain (Radiyallahu Anhu) doesn't correspond to the date on Wikipedia, so it might be possible that this is just a random date given for the occasion, since it doesn't correspond to the date of Imam Hussain's (Radiyallah Anhu) martyrdom either.

The Mowlid is a week-long celebration which peaks on the final, big night (which is the night shown in the video).

0:00 -- Outside the Musjid

0:27 -- Reciting Naat, Qaseedas, etc.

0:33 -- Stalls

0:52 -- Inside the Musjid

1:09 -- The burial site of the head of Imam Hussain (Radiyallahu Anhu)

1:45 -- Wazeefa recitals under the banners of different tareeqahs.

1:55 -- Loud Standing Zikr

2:05 -- At the burial site

2:31 -- Function outside

2:34 -- Distributing fatiha I think

2:51 -- Everyone starts congregating for the big night after Esha

3:32 -- Random functions further away from the musjid (on the streets and in alleyways)

As-Salaamu alaykum. What is the date on the Hijri calendar for the birth of Hadrat Imam al-Husain (radiyallahu anhu)? If you have more video of this blessed event, please post it! I love this video!!!

I don't know the Islamic date of the function. This video was posted one or two days after the mawlid took place (april 30th), so you can work it out from there. If you're in Cairo, just ask the people who work in the Musjid.

You celebrate his birth yet fail to acknowledge the oppression aimed towards the Ahlul Bayt and Imam Hussain's (as) martyrdom at the hands of the illegitimate rule of Yazeed, whom many consider to be rightful.

Yazeed was bad and not accepted by Ahlul bait, if Umar , Abu Bakar, Usman rda were bad then it was wajib on the Imams to fight for haq as stated in Usole Kafi, and if it was ALLAHs chosen Iamam then no one would have stopped them from being Imams!!!... The shia;s unfortunetly have twisted the history and made thw Claiphas bad but history speaks for itself and proves that the first 3 claiphas were greta leaders of Islam and ALLAH was please with them as states in Nahjhul Blagha! take care

ibna- Please give me clear proof from the Quran where it states that 12 imams are and they will be free, also the ones that call Yazeed good are not SUNNI but Wahabis, it is IJEMA of Ahlul Sunnah Wal Jamah that Yazeed was wrong and fasiq and to me Kaffir and laanti, if you are true Muslim then you must blieve in Ilm ul Ghaib of Nabi paak swas, if Abu bakar rda was going to go astray then Nabi swas would have never chosen him to lead prayer!!! Imam Ali rda did not fight but his son did,!!!

Yes they may have been in good faith during the Nabbi's life(saws) but afterwards their actions lead them towards the anger of Ahl al Bayt(as). I'm Shia yes but the proof is very clear brother. How can i take a man who can make mistakes as my leaders in islam where Allah(sw) has given us Sinless examples to follow as our Imams? Itrat wa ahl al bayt al nabbi(saws)

Not all Ahl al Sunnah denounce the actions of Yazeed(LA) Some go as call Husseins actions wrong. Yes there is amongst ahl al sunnah who have some logic left with in their teachings. As for the Shia. We are very critical of those who were around the Nabbi(saws). Because those who were close to him during his life, made grave error's after his departure. Abu bakr for example forbiding Lady Fatima(as) for her rights. Umar for leading her to her death.

we Sunnis love the ahle Bait and curse yazeed for his act, however we do not take the apporach of Shia and start to curse all that are realted to yazeed, as Yazeed Imam hussain ddint do sulha with, imam hassan and Ali rda called others there brother in Islaam...

May ALLAH guide the shia;s and teach them the truth
