Channel 7 Eyewitness News (WABC-TV) Correspondent Roger Sharp tells the story of New York City's Hart Island, a part of the Bronx. Rarely seen by the public, the island is today closed to the press and remains in use by the city as a Potter's Field. It was never developed as suggested in this 1978 report. Aired August 17, 1978.
It's a personal favorite of mine for showing how good writing and visuals can produce something really moving out of what could have been a rather run-of-the-mill local news piece.

one of the people buried on that island is Bobby Driscoll aka the voice of Peter Pan in the disney film. So sad, no one deserves to be buried a potter's field.

Dark and moving.
Heavy stuff-- especially with Condor Pasa looped with the reel-to-reel.
Haunting. Second time watching it, actually.
