  • Fuck the new power 106!! they need to go back to there mix music not just hip hop.

  • I miss the good old days

  • I remember JAY THOMAS on Power106

  • Sounds a little like the old Power 92 in Phoenix, Az. It's now Power 98.3 Where Hip-Hop Lives, but ... well, I'll just leave it at that. They used to always beat everyone in ratings, but that all changed when we got a bunch of new top 40 hits stations around the same time hip hop popularity began to decline in 2007/2008. Power 92 was home for Audio Express your home home home home commercials, and JJ The kING of Beepers...

  • (sigh) those were the days

  • Friday night flavors

  • I stopped listing to this station when the fired Jay thomas back in may 1992

  • I remember Power106 premiered Stevie B's Love & Emotion in June 1990 and taped it off the radio.

  • KPWR does not play Hip Hop. Hip Hop has REAL , clean rap music like back in the 80s. Todays So called "Hip Hop" is true garbage because it always involves hos, money, drugs and materialism. Its nothing compared to Real Hip Hop which involves graffiti, breakdancing, rap that makes sense, and DJ-ing.

I live in New York and We had a station just like yours. It was WQHT HOT 103 and Then it switched to HOT 97. But just like KPWR, it became a nonsense station around 1993. Thanks for the upload! :)

  • 72,000 Watts of Music Power! Classic!! I remember I would hide in my room when I was a kid to listen to Power. My mom would say this was

    the devil music".
