Whenever I hear, "You atheists are being just like evangelicals or preachers.", I just laugh. Speaking out against something that can be shown to be harmful to humanity is not preaching, it's activism. Personally, I don't do this because I am atheist. I do it because I am human. And if people want to call me a human fundamentalist, so be it. Don Baker and Matt Dillahunty host this clip from The Atheist Experience #473 - http://www.atheist-experience.com

The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin. The ACA is a non-profit organization, promoting positive atheism and the separation of church and state. If you would like to make a donation please do so at http://www.atheist-community.org/donate/

  • @SuperTruthlover Actually, you know what? This is getting rather heated. Perhaps because we only have 500 characters at a time. Now I love having these kinds of discussions. But only when they remain civil. What say you to having this discussion privately rather than spreading our peacock feathers for everyone else to see? I would love it if you sent me a private message and we could keep going. Maybe even be friends. C'mon pal, my soul is in desperate need of saving! ;)

  • @SuperTruthlover Lastly, I don't know who said that last comment of yours was spam, but I've been trying to un-spam it. I would never censor your argument. And I'm ashamed for whoever did.

  • @SuperTruthlover bit more, and guess what? It still wasn't God doing it, there were still perfectly natural explanations. And guess what else? We STILL don't have all the answers about gravity. But we're getting closer, rather than giving up and saying "God done it." I will not believe in God on faith. Faith is the excuse for people who have no good reason to believe. I'd rather admit I don't know and continue searching for an answer, than make one up.

  • @SuperTruthlover Also, I'm not searching for God. I'm searching for information on how the universe works. Cuz I like to know how things work. I'm one of those people who as a kid always took apart their toys to see how it worked. But every time there's a gap in scientific knowledge, that doesn't provide evidence for God. Newton gave up on finding out how gravity worked in the end, because he thought that was God's realm. Then along came Einstein. And he refined the theory a...

  • @SuperTruthlover convince me. I don't have to say what evidence I would accept as proof of leprechauns, or vampires, or magic either. You say you have evidence of God, now PRESENT IT. I've said I can't even remember how many times now to present your evidence. Now do it, please. I've been more than patient. I even removed my caveat of non-Biblical evidence only. Just present the evidence, and I will tell you if it is sufficient to convince me of God.

  • @SuperTruthlover You said I love the darkness over the light. Forgive me if I'm misreading your poetic spin there, but it sounded like you were calling me evil. No I don't have any idea what I would accept as valid evidence. But people who believe in God are the one's who are making the positive claim, not me. I remain grounded in the logically sound null hypothesis. All the evidence presented so far was insufficient to convince me. I didn't reject it. It was insufficient to

  • @SuperTruthlover David, Gideon, the first born of Egypt, the entire story of Lot's life is rife with incest and rape, he offers up his daughters to be raped in the stead of two random strangers. Even though incest is condemned in some places, Lot, and several other patriarchs get away with it. Presumably because they are righteous. The story of Job is downright petty. Murder is always cool so long as it's done righteously in the name of God. Know what we call it now? Hate crime.

  • lElva

God does not advocate incest, rape ,mass murder or slavery my friend and i wonder how you came to your beleifs. I know the 66 books of the bible teach us to love our fellow man as ourselvles so you certainly are mistaken if you think God teaches men to do evil to others .Tell me what scriptures you think teaches men to murder ,and rape etc?

  • @metalElvalover

I really don't think you will accept any evidence for God because you are firm in your belief that God does not exist and the God of the bible is evil

I have asked you what you would accept for evidence, within reason, that God exist and you don't offer anything. My only conclusion is you have no idea what you would accept as valid evidence for God .

I never said you were evil did I?

I said you want a world where only one God can exist

    YOU
