Have you seen anyone walking around with a shirt that says "Hollister, CA" on it, or maybe a bag with a bunch of hunky shirtless dudes on it? Where do you think they come from? Must be someplace exciting if everyone's wearing it... Weena finds out where Hollister California really is, and gets really freakin' mad.

(Trivia: Hollister may be best-known for being on part of the San Andreas earthquake fault system; its streets and buildings get messed up as the fault moves. Wikipedia says it claims the title "Earthquake Capital of the World.")

  • I live in hollister, and it think it is a prertty light town, we have lots of history and we are 1:00 away from the beach, sanjose, hiking, and 2:00 hours away from San Fran, I funnking hate every one who I tell I live in hollister think that I ether live in the funking store or in some town that is filled with surfers and beach sluts. The biggest gathering we have is the fair, or our rodeo!

  • @post107 Great summary of what it's like to live there! I wonder why the clothing company pays no attention to the rodeo. What would it say about the brand if they did use rodeo images to sell their clothes?

  • I don't buy their clothing. But I have no problem with image that they are pushing. It's a perception of reality. Like most things in life. There is nothing wrong with people wanting to buy clothes if it makes them feel connected or cool. If it helps someone's self-esteem that's fine.

  • @ChristopherMillerNow What if they're spending more money than they can afford to do it, though?

  • Hollister is a fucking cow town.

    hella made me laugh

    I'm from there wohoo

  • @stephenn78 so tell us more about the place!

  • So happy to appear on it

  • A simple glance at demographic statistics regarding gang violence and crime would show that Hollister is one safest towns in the Bay Area Hit me up. The clothes suck. I grew up in Hollister, so did my father and so did his father and so on. I'm a sixth generation Californian and finishing up a MA at Cal-Berkeley while my sister already has a JD from Cal-Berkeley. If you dislike Hollister, you still live with your parents or i fucked you up in high school. VIva Hollis.

  • @ryanlewiz hollister love my town!

  • @ChristopherMillerNow But clothes don't help anyone's self esteem. Of course, for-profit interests will sell them to you as a sense of identity and self-esteem, but that is their job: to get you to buy their product.

It's nonsensical to think that external conditions like clothes or cars have any real effect on self esteem. If true self esteem is there, why the need for certain clothes in the first place?

  • I have been through Hollister (i don't live there) but it looked sort of abandoned and mean. No offence to people who live there, just an observation.

  • @stephenn78 haha what up gmoney its ya boy from p north

  • You can tell I live there. Look at my username.

  • Some people don't like my town. I've always wondered why in the world is there a store called Hollister with a bunch of guys that don't have any shirts on. I mean REALLY. I once saw some guys lying down in front of what is now Santa something Bank and Trust. It was random.
