My quick 5 hr. Labor & Delivery at 38 weeks, self induction?

Went into labor at 38 weeks & 1 day pregnant. Total Labor was just under 5 hrs. Here is my story from beginning to end as to how it went down..everything from water breaking to epidural & even my fear of tearing at the last minute! FYI, I did tear in 2 areas but they were VERY small, I only had like 3 stitches total.

I wonder if it still hurt so much because the epidural didn't have enough time to fully kick in?! I can't believe how fast you went. I plan on having my water break and having plenty of time to get ready to go to the hospital too...I didn't think it could happen that fast for first timers! You look absolutely gorgeous!!!

Congrats honey! I'm soooo happy for you that everything went so well!! How are you feeling now? You look amazing! Do you believe after all that bedrest because my son was trying to come early, that now the lil stinker wont come out!? LOL I'm being induced on Friday if he isn't here yet so 5 more days!! Very excited but bummed about the induction. As long as he's happy and healthy though I'll be counting my blessings! Congrats again your son is sooo incredibly adorable! *HUGS*

Congrats, but i think its bull what they did with the epidural, thats way late, and for it not to kick in the way it did, my second baby it did that, but see i had my epidural early, so they were able to take it out and fix it so i couldnt feel nothing, and also with all three of my births my dr was there when they said i at ten, so he was the one who told me to start pushing, and ill be back there any day now with baby number 4. most wonderful experience

We are very lucky women :) my first was 3 hr labour, gas only and my second was 1 hr 20 mins, no drugs. Our bodies know what to do!

You didn't have informed consent. The medication you got in your IV is a narcotic called Nubain. It does have health risks to both you and the baby. Yes a childbirth education class would have been a good idea. A doula might have been a great idea. When your water broke, you went straight into active labor. You "missed" early labor because it happened so gradually. You probably will every time. Makes for fast labors. Glad everything turned out good. Congrats on your boy!

@Janelle902 If I had waited for my waters to break before i left for the hospital I would not have even made it to the car. My waters broke and i then immediately started pushing my son out.
