Stepanakert to Shushi 1999 Sept

In 1998 the ARS opened the first day care center (Stepanakert Soseh Mangabardez) with 87 orphans. They had all lost their fathers and four had lost their mothers as well. The children in this video are from that group. The trip to Shushi was part of the children's education, for them to honor their deceased parents and feel comfortable in religious surroundings.

This is only a day care center. Where do these kids go after that center if they have no parents at all? Are they any orphanages in Karabakh?? Do they practice foster care there?

When the ARS Soseh Mangabardez opened in 1998, there were 87 ophans - all had lost there fathers while 4 had lost there mothers as well. There were no orphanages in karabagh after the war of 1994. The cildren were supported by a parent or guardian. The villages were in a similar situation. Now there are 12 mangabardez thru-out the country but orphanages do exist.
