Scott v Harris (USSC 05-1631) Pursuit Video

In-car video from a Georgia pursuit wherein an attempted PIT manuever resulted in a collision, paralyzing the 19 year-old fleeing driver. The USSC sided 8-1 with then-Coweta County Deputy Tim Scott, reversing the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling and providing some basic protection for officers who decide to terminate dangerous pursuits. By all accounts, the existence of the video provided the most important evidence the Supremes used in making their decision.

Reading this case for law school. The only thing that would have made it better was having the narrator from police wildest videos call it play by play. Please tell me he was a expert witness during the trial. LOL

@justicefx On the contrary, Yes Officer Scott was sued, but the court ruled in HIS favor in the end and granted summary judgement! That means the OFFICER WON! Harris is paralyzed because he decided to break the law and evade. In addition, he put the general public at great risk due to his recklessness. That's what he gets! I'm glad that he's the only one who got hurt. Too bad he's not dead. Officer Scott is a real hero and I'm thankful for him. YOU SHOULD BE TOO! SLEEP TIGHT :)

What a shitty life. To run from law enforcement, endangering innocents, to get away from a simple traffic violation. Give us all a break, this low life deserved what he got. Pull over your car at the officer's discretion, endanger no one, and end up with working legs, dick, and everything else below the neck. Idiot.
