For those of you who are not familiar with Urdu, here is a brief explanation:

Urdu (pronounced like OrDoo) is a register of the Hindustani language that is identified with Muslims in the Indian subcontinent. It belongs to the Indo-European family. It is the national language and lingua franca of Pakistan, and is widely spoken in some regions of India. Based on the Khariboli dialect of Delhi, Urdu developed under the influence of Persian, Arabic, and Turkic over the course of almost 900 years.
