My goodness, Stephen Fry (no friend of the Catholic Church himself) was at least right when he said you should look at all the wonderful things on YouTube but never look at the comments underneath because so many are hateful. Drat, and now I've gone and contributed to them!

@BillyIsATwat23 U say the church has caused suffering, just like every institution in this world. i have no problem if u hate the catholic belief &those that practice it, all i ask is that u show respect towards all beliefs. i am a catholic, and a proud 1. While it is true that the church has abused its power at certain points in its history, it has also been a blessing towards several. It helped defeat communism in eastern europe, fed the poor, & done more 4 the better than u or i put together

Just look at your church's history and dogma for crying out loud. It'd be laughable if it weren't for the misery that it's caused and is still causing hundreds of millions of people. In fact I'd go as fair to say I hate Catholicism.

It was the law so he had to join them? If he had any moral backbone he was have either taken his punishment or deserted. END OF.
He wasn't an active member? He was still a member and as such complicit in upholding Nazi control of Germany (bit like the Catholic church's own attitude to Hitler's regime don't you think?)

@BillyIsATwat23 i dont want to get into one huge arguement, so im only gonna adress one of your ignorant comments. First of all, he wasn't a Nazi. He was in the Hitler Youth Group, but that was required by law. If he didn't join he'd be punished severely for it. Aside from that fact, records and personal accounts verify that he wasn't an active member. He doesn't uphold the Nazi belief. Make sure to do some research before you throw out slanders and vulgarities
