Apologetics and Dawkinlike Atheism

These types of beliefs have no business selling millions of books and appearing on every TV set in America. The quicker we understand this, the quicker we can figure out ways to save Christianity.

It seems fairly obvious here that you're struggling to make your point sound viable, without outright saying, "There's no way to objectively show my religion is valid, so I've decided to proclaim that I don't need to... and everyone else is wrong for trying to."

Well the problem isn't Atheist saying show me your proof and I'll be religious. The problem is when you have apologetics saying we're right and you're wrong. Now to all the atheist that are butthurt by this video the point he is trying to make is that Religion and Belief in God are not objective. Those things like any other personal choice or commitment is subjective. Therefore it's not prone to empirical evidence.

Guess what dude, you are already operating outside the realm of Faith. By trying to save Christianity, you are putting yourself in the position of being a savior. Christianity teaches that it saves you, not the other way around.

interesting. I would argue young kids are moving away from orthodox religion because they have SEEN how people who claim that belief system have acted; they have SEEN endless hypocrisy and immorality by those claiming the very same belief system you are trying to save.

Why are you trying to save a belief system which was originally constructed to explain things like rain, the sun, weather patterns, planetary motions..... I guess I dont understand why people NEED religion. Never made sensetome

Neither atheism nor apologetics are dead! Why make this apologetics video if apologetics be dead. Atheists (of the brand you refer) do not want to pull you out of the realm of religion; we want you to stop promoting. You came to me with this video. Sure I did a search for apologetics, but you are the one trying to promote your religion. Keep it to yourself and then atheists will no longer have a need to defend science and public education against religiously imposed draconian oppressive laws.

Good points clearly made -- thanks. I believe that apologetics does have its place but not as the sport that it often becomes. The Apostle Paul spent long periods of time debating people but he also surely had discernment to know whether or not the Spirit was at work in each instance of witness. What we all need is discernment to know when to dust off and move on from wasting time.
