I wrote this song lots of years ago - it is dedicated to all those people who suffered in coal mines during the Industrial Revolution.
Here are the lyrics:

1. I ain't gonna work in this coalmine no more
I said, I ain't gonna work in this-here coalmine no more
I'm working all my fingers simply down to the bone
Here at this dark coal-face, always alone

There's coal dust in my lungs
And coal dust in my brain
"Why, that's all part of a revolution
Called Industrial", they claim.

2. My wife ain't gonna work in this coalmine no more
I said, my wife ain't gonna work in this-here coalmine no more
She's going down to the mine shaft all day
She's harnessed like a horse, so why should she expect more pay?!

There's coal dust in her lungs
And coal dust in her brain
"Why, that's all part of a revolution
Called Industrial", they claim.

3. My kids ain't gonna work in this coalmine no more
I said, my kids ain't gonna work in this-here coalmine no more
They're lowered into Hell before the sun begins to rise
Crawlin' out like rats they see the moon up in the sky.

There's coal dust in their lungs
And coal dust in their brain
"Why, that's all part of a revolution
Called Industrial", they claim.

Background info can also be found at www.wahlbrinck.de/studios/deja-vu.htm
The song was recorded in the Saguaro & Tumbleweed Studios at the Home of the Wadel on this very planet, but in another century.
By the way, this is simple homerecording stuff - therefore, excuse the somewhat monotonous drum machine...

  • @TTempest1989 I think it's pretty good

  • Actually it does suck. It doesn't sound good. And you shouldn't need any sort of special talent to review music. The only thing that is relevant is what your audience thinks. And you shouldn't have to be an expert to have an opinion.

  • @TTempest1989 You obviously have no skill or talent in reviewing music. I have. Over 40 years as a very successful composer, performing and recording artist. There is an old school invitation I and other musicians do when someone pans music - come up here on stage with us - show us what you can do - and it usually ends with golden silence. There is no such thing as BAD music. I've heard what you would call bad. At times it went platinum to my utter amazement. Go figure. I liked this song!

  • You should write another song then tear them both up.

  • Yo, if you like this song, you'll hate the one I got on my channel! It's also about coal mining, but it ain't like this one. Oh man! It ain't your dad's coal mining song! It's more like you're grandpop's...
