In this video, I talk about a video recording application for the iPhone called Cycorder. This applies does require a jailbreak (i.e. hacked phone) in order to work, and as you've probably guessed, I've recently jailbroken my phone. I was instantly floored by the video quality of this application. I had very low expectations of pixelated, choppy video, but instead I got a fairly smooth, and crisp picture. The main reason behind this great video quality is the usage of the MJPEG compression codec which is used by a lot of point-and-shoot digital cameras. I had better results with this program outside and in sufficient lighting, and I found that it suffers video quality loss in poor lighting. Definitely not a surprise considering this application isn't even supposed to be running on the iPhone. All in all, if you need to take quick videos while on the go, and you're not afraid to hack your iPhone, Cycorder is a must have.
