That gold medal match against japan was a fix. The US lost the game on purpose to japan because if the us win another one the olympics comittee will most likely take softball out of the olympics. The reason is because one nation dominate softball way too much and its not even a close competition. Woman softball is not very popular around the world except a few country in asia and USA.

First of all Let me assure you that it was not an intentional loss. also Softball has already been removed from the olympics before this game was played. However there is a chance that softball could get back in the olympics in the 2016 Games or later. But it is not possible to get back in the olympics for 2012 games.

@wutrutalkinabout Not exactly, softball is a term that covers several different varieties (Fast Pitch, Slow Pitch, Modified Pitch, and etc) each of these are played in different leagues which can be Female, Male, or Coed. while softball is simmilar to baseball the most noticeable and constant differences between softball and baseball are The size and density of the ball, The Requirement for an Underhand pitch, and only 7 innings of regulation play.

This is a good video, but when you answer questions about the song, you REALLY denigrate the vid. It's such a damn cliche. And I'd really prefer to see some more defense, not just a bunch of home runs. Anyone can hit home runs, team defense is the key.

its depressing they took softball out of the olympics. they obviously didnt know how many dreams were going to be crushed once they took softball out and if they did they just didnt care unfortunatley. it was a dream of mine to play in the olympics since i was a little girl. now i cant. wow thanks alot..looking at the brightside atleast no one has taken softball in general away.
