Equine field surgery recovery restraint using sand bags. Use aproximately 25% body weight evenly positioned over the poll. I use a custom made canvas bag to hold 4 - 70 lb sand bags for the average horse. In roughly 15 minutes the horse will be able to sit upright. Then after about three tries will throw off the sand bags and stand. He will then be completely stable with no staggering.

  • As a prevet student and horse owner I wondered how about the post-op conditions in field...interesting and seemingly very effective.
