we will never know what Ike's intentions were, Ike is now deceased,

what a boring audience

mmm....sospechoso.............
....xD -
As a solo artist, Tina went back to performing version that much more ressembled the original Phil Spector arrangment, which just goes to show that she probably prefers the Spector arrangement.

I much much prefer this version. I DJ and the studio version does nothing for dancing, it just sounds muddier as it gets louder. There's another band who do this arrangement - play that tune and the dancefloor goes crazy.
As to the rest, this kind of show was how Ike got to where he did in the music business - look at the TAMI/TNT footage for example - so he probably trusted his way of doing it, not Phil Spectors. I prefer his version of rock n roll, too, not the bombastic teen copy.

Ike was such an asshole he made her sing it this way to make it sound his own way cuz they didn't want to work with his ugly punk ass. GOD rest his soul
-
it sounds like ikes way of killing tina's first globel hit.
-
Now witch group of Ikettes are these?
-
i hate this version, the movie version was sooo much better.

I wonder if Ike changed this to his own faster version because he was cut up that he wasn't involved in the recording...and since Tina went solo she has not sang this faster version? Just a thought. I prefer the original slower version as it has so much heart and soul in it. Tears always well up when I watch her sing this song back in the 60s knowing now what she was going through. Your a legend Tina!!

Yeah, Ike made her sing it that way. I'm sure she liked the studio version as well.
