President Obama Makes a Surprise Visit at the 2010 Bay to Breakers, San Francisco, CA

On Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the Bay to Breakers Run in San Francisco, CA, I came across President Obama making a surprise appearance. It was quite a chaotic scene as his security detail tried to clear a path in the massive crowd that was participating in the event. At one point, a member of the Secret Service yelled at me to put my camera away. Not sure if this is allowed by their rules, but it appears as if some member of the President's security detail had open cans of beer in their hands. Its possible that the cans may not have contained any alcohol or they make an exception for the Bay to Breakers so that security can better meld in with the crowd and protect the President. .

I did not know those Agents protecting the President, was just a bystander/photographer fortunate enough to get close. I would never allow this type of behavior on my protective staff. Wonder if they got into trouble when they got back to Washington?
