It's plenty fair. These features wear the parts down such that Nissan couldn't offer the deal it currently does if it protected those features. Your choices are: 1) The car doesn't come with launch control, etc. It is fully warrantied, but you have to hack the computer to do launch control and that voids the warranty. 2) The car has these features, but you can't use them wtihout taking some responsibility. 3) The car has these features, and they are under warranty, but it costs more
Isn't that false advertisement? Here is the performance specs... Here is the warranty..., but.... you can't have the two together. If you do the advertised performance, you don't have the warranty, if you do the warranty, you don't have the performance. So, technically they can't advertise the performance and warranty at the same time .
Nissan cannot cover the gearbox for damage caused by launch control because it is illegal in Japan and so according to Nissan in Japan "the GTR doesnt have launch control" that and also the whole deal with gear box failures is totally overblown and has happened to only very few people.
Also I bet the transmissions would be stronger if they were a traditional 6 speed. Hmm, lets think here. GETRAG = nearly indestructable. Dont get me wrong, i think the weight distribution is great, and the transmission shifts hard and faster than we can, but all that performance just to lack durability? come on. I love nissan as well as many other manufacturers. Like GM. the C6 vette has almost the same setup, just with traditional manual trans. and they dont break. I know 2wd vs. awd but still.
The funny thing is, Ford came out with the awful Ford focus saleen edition, which in addition to the tasteless body kit and dodge neon srt4 paint colors, also had a factory nitrous system. bottle and all. But of course, if you filled the bottle with nitrous and hooked up the lines, it voided the warranty. Thats hilarious. Thanks "FaF"
