Iranian wrestlers are some of the best pound for pound wrestlers and overall athletes in the world. They came here to Loras College some years back and showed some really impressive technique. Not to mention how much heart they have for the sport.

If wrestling was easy we would call it basketball.

@po3jet first of all you have to put your prejudice aside, because us being Shia Muslims has nothing to do with athletics ( there is zero and i mean absolute zero correlation between religion and athletics/sports). secondly you cant say all Russians are atheists and are uncircumcised ( i dont even know what that has to do with wrestling). Lastly do you honestly believe that all of us in Iran follow the teachings????

iranians are better becoz they are shia muslims...period...russians are uncircumcised atheists and idolaters and are not included in Allah's covenant with prophet Abraham...shia muslims dont drink and are very focused bec.our religion teaches us to be better individuals

@Johny123Stabilizator Ossetians aka alanians are an iranian tribe, this year iran won the greco world cup again and russia won the freestyle, iran came second in freestyle russia second in greco, russians are better funded with complete control of the officials this is known throughout wrestling. So in beijing iran technically got 9 medals at the 08 olympics in freestyle, dagestani's chechyans and ossetians don't regard themselves as russian anyway.

Yes Russia won in both matches, and yes, the tournament was held in Russia, and what is most interesting is that all Russian wrestlers were back up lads, beasts were chilling that day, wheares Iran put their best ones.
