Whore House

Just over the border of California is a closed down whore house called Janies Ranch. I'm not sure exactly when it closed, I'm guessing in the last 10 years because it was open when I lived in Bishop which is about 20 minutes away. I remember coupons for Janie's Ranch advertising deals for fishermen and travelers. One year for the Mule Days parade 3 whores rode on their horses in the parade representing the whore house. They mostly were booed by the locals but it was entertaining nonetheless. Now on the JR sign it says "closed, beat it"

No, we did not want to see how it felt like to work there! I grew up in that area and knew about it since I was 6. I remember seeing advertisements for it in our local newspaper and one year the whores dressed up like old time saloon girls and rode horses in the Mule Days parade. The entire concept of it is bizarre to me and I was just curious about it.

I grew up about three miles from there. You'd almost see my house during the back door (lol) shot if the camera focused better. Oh and Bishop is no less then 40 miles from there.

Ha thats awesome my Grandpa was a trucker and he just told me the story of when he spent xmas and new years with Janie and the girls at the ranch... had to see what it looked like.
