actually Hojo admits in the game that he isn't his father, that he injected a virus into himself, lucrecia and sphiroth so that it would seem that way.
he shot vincent cause vincent got in the way. they both admit it. vincent admits it in the cave and hojo admits it to vincent.

@InvaderVen ...No. Hojo is Seoh's father. It SHOULD have been Vincent, but Lucrecia hooked up with Hojo instead. Then she realized her feelings for Vincent. Hojo shot Vincent either A) because he was crazy or B) he was jealous or C) Vincent was getting in the way. After Vincent was turned into Chaos, Lucrecia gave him a gene (can't remember) to help him control it. Then she went into the crystal waterfall, waiting for her son to come home.
