It's my understanding that this Tucker has just been sold. Hope the new owner enjoys it as much as 48tucker19 seemed to. I hope it continues to be on display somewhere for all to enjoy!

I have a special place in myi heart for the Tucker. My dad met Preston Tucker, and he was allowed to drive a "demonstration model" around our neighborhood in Woodland, California, around 1948 or 1949. People stopped dead in their tracks when they saw it. My dad also reportedly drove it down to L.A. to meet Howard Hughes who was interested in buying it. No deal though, since Tucker wouldn't let Hughes change the name of the car.
these cars were amazing i just read the article on this one in old cars weekly. Its surprising how 47 are still around today. cars like that were just crushed and forgotten about. I've seen four of these cars. I know the guy who own car #51 in northern NJ he lives near the auto shop I work. He even also has a fiberglass tucker he built on a oldsmobile chassis. I got to see the convertible at hershey pa in '09.

@59ranger I'd like to see that fiberglass replica. Wonder if he has any pictures or video of it on You tube. Think I'll do a search of You tube for fiberglass Tucker.

Back in the 70's I visited a museum in Pennsylvania called Automobilorama near Harrisburg and I got to see and touch one of these cars in that museum. It was identical to this one. What a beauty !

@Counselor77 A little research indicates that you probably visited Gene Zimmerman's Automobile collection. According to one source, Mr. Zimmerman auctioned off the cars in the late 1970s before he moved to Florida, I guess to retire. No telling who bought the Tucker that you saw although someone must know. There was likely a few of them painted this color blue.
