The Dyson DC24 Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

The movement of the Dyson Ball is totally unique. It rolls across the floor and turns with ease with a simple turn of the wrist. It also vacuums up small particles like flour very well. For a large particle test, we crushed up crackers. It got most of the pieces, but some larger parts didn't fit underneath. Pet hair was sucked up easily.

On the hard flooring, small particles like flour were immediately cleaned up. Remember to turn off the brush bar for hard floors. For larger particles, a lot of the pieces didn't fit under the vacuum. The Dyson DC24 Ball just pushed these cracker pieces instead of cleaning them.

The on board tools are accessed by taking off the reversible wand, turning it around and clipping it back on. It reaches the ceiling easily. We also could clean up to six stairs without having to move the vacuum. You can also clean by just using the hose. It did a nice job on stairs and upholstery.

The DC24 filters out all of the dust it sucks up. Our Decibel reader registered between 70 to 75 decibels, which is quieter than a normal vacuum. The suction was above average at 80 inches of water.

Maintenance involves two different things. First, you need to empty the dust-bin by taking it off the vacuum and opening it up over a trash can. There are two filters. One on top of the root cyclone and another one inside the Ball. They are relatively easy to access. Both need to be washed every three months and left out to dry for 24 hours before being putting back in the vacuum.

We ranked this vacuum very high. It is lightweight, fun to use, and does an excellent job cleaning up in many different situations and on all floors.

  • @zmanifest mine is the pet one. Check out my spot cleaning vid. Its head need to be bigger as you can see the difference.

  • Very happy with my Dyson, cant be bothered looking at the model but it is blue. Before that i had Weirtheim. Good vac blew up in six seven yrs. I can suck up most of the snake poop when im cleaning. See my spot cleaning vid. The only problem is they needed to make the first nozzle and filter hole intake for larger stuff instead of having to pick it up cause the piece is too large. Mines the pet one.

  • @BAKUGAN0612 My experience is not the same as yours! I have this DC24 and I have a lot of pets. It's actually really good at sucking up all of the pet hair and it works for me.

  • this vacuum is ok dont by if your got pets it levs pet hair behind

  • Besides that the Dyson DC24 "mini Ball vacuum has the powerful performance of a full size Dyson upright, it's also strong enough to lift a VHS tape.

  • Thanks for doing this review. I am buying this now!

  • Why no crevice tool

  • Why no crevice tool

  • I have this little Dyson and I love it. It preforms like a big Dyson. I like that it's compact, not very bulky and easy to store. It has deep cleaning power and can suck up fine dirt, sand, rice, coffee grounds, pine needles and potato chip crumbs with ease. I'd say that the DC24 is a master carpet cleaner!
