  • @dazsti2 Paul also did the solo on tax-man ( in addition to co-writing it with George but didn't take credit) George asked Paul to fix taxman up.

  • John considered it a throw away song. George Martin dressed it up with some horns. John insisted on the animal sound effects and said it had to be in such an order that each animal could eat the animal that preceded it.

  • Written by John when he was bored living in the suburbs with his wife and having trouble coming up with material for Paul's new "concept album". He was doing a lot of LSD, drinking, fighting and generally not wanting to be married or "settled down"...Suburban hell for John.
