Lyrics inspired by Kurt Vonnegut's short story EPICAC

It's a lion with satin jaws
A child's plaything in a raven's claws
It's a rock with a pulsing heart & veins
A stormy thundercloud that's pouring silken rain
It's a gentle tidal wave
It's a smile in your grave
But I'm gone moving on
Masochism ain't my thing

It's the mouse who's sleeping in a cage of lead
A screaming plummet down into a feather bed
Fevered nightmare brought in check by soothing songs
A screeching diving airplane dropping snowy cotton bombs
Just you standing next to me
E p i c a c & ecstasy
But I'm gone moving on
Masochism ain't my thing

It's the madman who remembers he's insane
It's me talking when there's nothing to explain
It's the children of a vicious animal
It's the kisses from some hungry cannibal
It's the ocean's darkest blue
On a boat that's split in two
But I'm gone moving on
Masochism ain't my thing

  • @jalouchart Hey, sorry, just saw this (a month later . . . sorry) sent you a friend request!

  • @jalouchart I realized after posting this it is someone else's channel, probably another member of the band. This means you'll have no idea who I am, but the rest of the comment is valid.

  • So you're aware, this song is fantastic. Personal to the listener whatever their place in the world. I appreciate something that appreciates itself, and this song does just that. Written and performed with integrity and individual personality. I like it.

Unrelated note, if this is also the band in which Eric plays Sax; consider yourself stalked. I'm the kid with the jacket with pockets.
