For use with Sibelius 6

This plugin allows you to automatically generate a melody with the click of a button. You can choose both pitch and duration settings for your melody to draw from.

There is no Sibelius tool quite like this. In fact, there are very few music softwares at all with this capability. Just choose your settings, generate, and export your melody to text or to a Sibelius score, and you are on your way to composing.

Run it once to get a melody from scratch, or generate hundreds of melodies in a single plugin run. This plugin is an absolute must have for the composers out there.

This plugin is our most expensive, but it provides an inexhaustible wealth of melodies. They are not stored in a bank like Sibelius' ideas library, but are randomly generated from your settings, resulting in a completely dynamic output.

  • 100 over four :')

  • @329Mortar Yup, 100 over 4, just a way to account for the subtleties of generating melodies in Sibelius... The intent is that you will be copying and pasting the melody to another score :)

  • MRevolution44, sorry you were not satiated. In the next melody generator plugin video I'll include some playback for you. The melodies are randomly generated, so some you'll love and some you'll hate, but you can run it indefinitely till you get one you like. My intention in coding this was not to always output tonally pleasing melodies, but to give users the ability to create melodies of all types. However, by using the presets you can easily create sonorous phrases. Thanks for checking it out!

  • ook3vin, thanks for watching and I am sorry you can not see the academic and creative value in such a tool. I feel that if you look deeper into the purpose for such a software you will find that it is merely just a utility, not a replacement for the composer.

  • I am assuming you have the free version of the Advanced Calculator... But what is unbeneficial about the creation order of the dialog? There are no enabling and disabling of controls.... But yes, the Pro Version does have a number of additional controls in the dialog. Best of luck on your plugins.

  • Oh youtube, your resolution is so poor these days....

  • @themusictranscriber Yeah? does it actually write anything that would fill up all that space?

  • play the damn melody!

i came here just to see if that software works good!

  • I think this is a great idea. Quite often students of composition struggle to get started, and here is something that could give them a leg-up. They're not going to use the exact melody, but it might have a fragment they can develop, or they might spend some time writing harmony that fits it. All of that is a learning experience. Well done.

  • @ook3vin Don't be so shortsighted. This plug-in is invaluable to me as an instructor. I can generate melodies for my students to sightread (as opposed to the normal prepared read) that are appropriate to their skill level and knowledge base. If a student has progressed to two sharps in the key signature and can confidently read eighth notes then in just a few moments I can generate something for them to read, often DURING the lesson.

  • WOW, that's creativity at its finest, clicking some buttons and having a computer do it for you. .. Anyone who uses this is a FRAUD

  • @themusictranscriber Thank you :) In Windows, creation order determines what happens when you shift the focus from one button to the next allowing quick use without the mouse ... say, with the digits, I could go between thme using Tab / left and right. Does that work in Mac OS X?
