Clancy is a boxer that has Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). About 7 weeks ago he started needing the assistance of his "wheelchair" (cart) from Eddie's Wheels. At first he would wear boots to prevent his toes from getting scuffed when he knuckled, but soon he would just drag his feet behind him in the boots, as seen in this video. The solution has been to buy "Thera-Paws Hind Leg Dorsiflex Assist Brace" but only use the bootie part of the brace, which have rings attached to the toes. Then we attach bungee cords from the saddle of his cart to the toes of his boots. This assists him in lifting his feet up and forward. Because of this, he can still walk with all four feet on the ground rather than having to put his rear feet raised into stirrups (see other video). I hope this helps!
