Thanks for the information. I saw him in Chicago with the VoT and the Craig Brothers, and he was wearing the organ out, and singing up a storm. I didn't realize until years later that he was such an amazing pianist, songwriter, and arranger, as well.
@ddbarrow I didn't know that he was a student of Herbert Pickard. That explains so much. I saw him in Chicago with the VoT and the Craig Brothers at First Church of Deliverance. He was wearing the organ out at that time, and singing up a storm. I didn't realize until years later that he was such an amazing pianist, songwriter, and arranger. Thanks.
More than 20 years have passed, and this arrangement still wears me out. It is so unique and touching, and only Thomas Whitfield could have done it. I think he was the spiritual continuation of Rev. Charles Craig and the Voices of Tabernacle moreso than anyone, even Rev. Craig's sons. When I hear his piano playing on this, I think of Herbert Pickard.
Can you please uploead the whole album. I had this back in the late 80's and it got ruined.. l loved this album. Whitfield was a genius and way before his time !!!!!
