£253Bn to lift 1.3bn people out of poverty?!?! For how long? Five minutes? A year? Which people in poverty?

Plus the 'cost' of the crisis? On what basis? Bailing out the banks? Well they are going to have to pay it back anyway. The UK banks are owned by the gov, so when they sell it they will get the money back. That is an investment, not a down payment.
