The hamstring muscle is a group of large, powerful muscles that span the back of the thigh, from the lower pelvis to the back of the shin bone. A hamstring strain, is a tear of the hamstring muscle fibers. In less severe hamstring strains, the tearing is microscopic. The muscle fibers are essentially stretched too far, and some bleeding occurs within the muscle. In very severe hamstring strains, the hamstring muscle can completely rupture, and may require surgery to repair the torn ends of the muscle. The following helps identify the severity of the strain:

Grade I Strain: Mild discomfort, often no disability. Usually does not limit activity.
Grade II Strain: Moderate discomfort, can limit ability to perform activities such as running and jumping. May have moderate swelling and bruising associated.
Grade III Strain: Severe injury that can cause pain with walking. Often people complain of muscle spasm, swelling, and significant bruising.
KT tape application is an appropriate use for Grade I and II hamstring strains. Seek professional medical evaluation for grade III strains and use KT Tape as part of a larger treatment plan.

  • All you do is adjustment the placement based on the point of pain. If it's higher up then you would place the tape higher up.

  • tried this today feels great so far hopefully it will help in my game tomorrow!

  • Love her thigh flex 0:19

  • Your telling me a mere sticker can rid a hamstring strain......Are you fucking kidding me?

  • @SaddleGuy the hamstring is being stretched when tape is applied

  • he totally fucked her after the video ended

  • "and rub that on..."

  • It doesn't make any sense how a longitudinal segment of elastic tape, adhered with no tension, would have any effect on the biomechanical function of the hamstring muscle. If you put the tape on with no tension when the hamstring is at maximal stretch, it will be on slack when the hamstring is within it's normal length range. If you account for skin pliability, and gradual release of the tape due to sweat, movement, hair... I can't imagine it has any effect at all! Looks pretty, though.

  • Wow this stuff is really interesting!

  • @LumosInc If the pain seems to be at the insertion point do you place the tape above that and on the actual buttox?

  • @LumosInc

this work if the injury appears to be at the insertion point? Would the tape be started on the buttox then?
