Is a damn shame they've retired the Jag in NATO. The RAF Pilots who flew em were a crack bunch! Excellent Aircraft and excellent Pilots.

@shrivaldo ummmm... i don't have a lot of information regarding the crash it self, just that the f-16 American pilot crashed his aircraft as he was tail chasing a jaguar inside a narrow valley & crashed it onto a mountain... he didn't have time to eject... it's been a period since that crash & few people only remaining who can tell you the full true story..

Oman is not in the persian gulf, the pilots were Omanis & an american pilot crashed his f-16 in a mountain as he was following one of these crazy pilots..

@7791ramrod Thank you for the reply. This extract is from Wiki with reference to Oman. :- Countries with a coastline on the Persian Gulf are (clockwise, from the north): Iran, Oman (exclave of Musandam), United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia , Qatar on a peninsula off the Saudi coast, Bahrain on an island, Kuwait and Iraq in the northwest. When I was in the RAF everyone referred to Oman being in the Persian Gulf!

Technically you're right, but truth be told, the part that does have a link to the Persian Gulf is only a small enclave that's not entirely connected to Oman.. THe bigger part of Oman, has no link whatsoever to the Persian Gulf, and lies in fact in the Gulf of Oman.

you can stop bowing, i just looked at Wiki like you did.. Except i checked the Oman article and map rather then the text from the Persian Gulf, which doesn't tell the whole story.
