I'm a 28yr old white girl who is obsessed with mokuhanga - I'm a professional printmaker (etching mainly), but I spend all my spare time practicing this technique. I even have some of the little postcards that this man has made.
There is some hope for the future.

My wife and I visited this gallery/shop in March 2003 and spent about an hour with him. While we were there his grand daughter called to tell him that she had graduated from Uni. He asked me to speak with her and to congratulate her in English. He was so proud of her! I also translated the sign he has on the outside of his gallery , which reads "Open when I wake up and closed when I must go to sleep. When I've had enough the store is closed"
