  • I had been playing for the last 35 years. I am a player. That day was so happen that it happen when i bounced back and maybe the only muscle used was the gastrocnemius muscle tear---2 strand as i can hear the "pluck" sound. Afterwhich i could not even walk. the excruciating pain paralysed me for a while before somebody helped me to the side of the court. It took me 6 weeks to be able to walk sideway. cannot walk forward. walk like a crab. By 15 the march i am okay and start playing again.

  • @eccchung Your case sounds more serious than mine cause I was able to walk very slowly for the first couple of days. I didn't hear any sound just felt knive cut pain while stepped forward. It is one & half month now, I just finished my 8 sessions of Physiotherapy. I am going to have accupture treatment. Since you are a competitive player and still hurt by accident. I guess I will dare not to play badminton anymore after totally recover but will play ping pong.

  • @eccchung How long did you take to go back to the court ? I guess I only play once a week & didn't do enough warm up and stretch to my limit while playing. The day I got hurt, I had to use other leg to brake for the car while driving back home.

  • Me too, i had my calf muscle torn last December. It was gruelling painful experience. Now i am back on court. Hope you are doing fine.

  • @eccchung Thanks ! I had my calf partly teared apart while playing badminton in the summer. So it may take some time to totally recover.
