Lyrics for Anniversary Song:
Have you ever seen a sight as beautiful
as that of the rain-soaked purple
of the white birch in spring?

Have you ever felt more fresh or wonderful
than on a warm fall night
under a Mackerel sky,
the smell of grapes on the wind?

Well I have known all these things
and the joys that they can bring
And I'll share them all for a cup of coffee
and to wear your ring

Have you ever had the pleasure of watching
a quiet winter's snow slowly gathering
like simple moments adding up?

Have you ever satisfied a gut feeling
to follow a dry dirt road that's beckoning you
to the heart of a shimmering summer's day?

Well I have known all these things
and the joys that they can bring
And I'll share them all for a cup of coffee
and to wear your ring

And I don't know how I survived those days
before I held your hand
Well I never thought that I would be the one
to admit that the moon and the sun
shine so much more brighter when
seen through two pairs of eyes than
when seen through just one

Have you ever seen a sight as beautiful
as a face in a crowd of people
that lights up just for you?

Have you ever felt more fresh or wonderful
as when you wake
by the side of that boy or girl
who has pledged their love to you?

Well I have known all these things
and the joys that they can bring
And now every morning there's a cup of coffee
and I wear your ring

  • This is their best song.

  • @roadhockey ....I agree!!

  • Terrific song...and there is an actual video for it, but nowhere on You Tube. I think it was text-only (white lettering on a black background) and featured the names of people who were married to each other. Names would fade in and fade out in a variety of ways.

  • @TVThemeGuy2 I've liked this song for a long time and have never seen a video,I'm not the Junkies ever did one for this song? So there you go,it needed something on here.

  • @deadenear No, this was an actual music video that was cut specifically for the song and, at least in Canada, used to air on video channels. That's not say there wasn't a clip of them on YouTube from a late show appearance, just that it wasn't the song's official video. If it ever makes it's way to YouTube, I'll e-mail you a link, as well as doing so for the original poster.

  • @TVThemeGuy2 It used to be up and it was a live performance of this song on one of the american night talk shows.

  • i love this lp!

  • 10-29-2011. He's gettin' his kicks at 46. Happy Birthday, Peter Timmins.

  • Great writing!

  • Really like the guitar parts in this song, Where did the live footage of them performing this song go? It was on a talk show.
