I thought this song was about Aung San Suu Kyi.

I wonder if the male background singer is Dhani Harrison

Edges voice is stunning. Very emotional performance from him also

Wow, Larry's passion amazes me during this song. As a drummer, there's a certain feeling I get, almost like an angry passion, when I am as emotionally into the song as I can be, and that's what Larry seems to be playing here. You can tell he cares.

This is so moving... especially compared to the original video which shows a band of aging, dyed hair men children smirking and walking around some resort with "native people.
At the end Bono is calling out to his wife, Ali (it blends in nicely with the alleluia being chanted). He's calling out to Ali that he wil be home soon. Brings a nice lump in my throat. He's a gaint egomaniac, but he has got a heart.

IDK. Choosing between this version of WO and not having 9/11 is pretty hard for me. :(

@potenson555 I thought I was the only one who would ever speak those same thoughts. I remember a drive from Los Angeles, to Las Vegas (home) feeling helpless, scared, and bewildered. This song saved my that trip from doing something very stupid. The key verse for me was "leave it behind". I've always been a fan of U2, however, this really rekindled my faith in music as a "faith-based" method of sanity. A little over dramatic - maybe - however, it's true from my view.

This song is by far the most religious feeling song they do. All kneel down to the U2 alter.
-
Then I just want my piece instead, and I'll make my own Heaven on earth!
