...i just spent $500+ on proline upgrades for my recent build so I would really appreciate a response as an avid user of your parts. I have protrac kit, trencher SC tires, protrac rear axle cvd kit, hinge pin kit, body posts, end link kit, performance tranny, front skid, steering kit, pro-2 bumpers, and more. I love your stuff but worried about my new proline transmission. My build will be operational in a week

Previous post said tranny at release will only come with 86 spur. Currently have my LCG slash setup to run 17.5NR Stock with a FDR of 7.5. With an 86 spur I would need large pinions, 31t would be needed to get 7.5FDR. Is there enough adjustment to get a pinion that large on? Are the spurs specific to this tranny? If so how soon would other spur options come. Also do you plan on a ball diff at some point? Is the diff case going to be sealed well? I.E no hole in the bottom and interlocking seam.

Definitely no hole on the bottom like the stock transmission and there is a good seal. You can make a Losi xxx-sct gear or SC10 spur gear work but you have to make the gear hole bigger by about 0.010", so that might be your best option for the ratios you are running. What tooth spur gear are you currently running? No plans for a ball diff right now but we might do it if enough people ask for it.

Matt @ PL, BSRC sent me,
How do you reduce the rotating mass, (smaller gears, aluminum, what)?
How tight are the tolerances for this transmission, Traxxas seems to have terrible tolerances for THEIR diff, causing it to strip.
Is this basher grade; will the bolts holding the bumper mount "taco" every time the bumper hits something in a cartwheel?
Sure hope these were good questions, also, what would the PL equivalent be to Jconcepts goosebumps, Gladiators?
I sure would like tires ;)

We reduced the weight by using different materials. The top gear is Steel and so are the internal diff gears, but all the other gears are made out of high impact super durable plastic. The tolerances are definitely improved over stock and we have yet to blow out any part of the differential in our testing. The bolts are steel but our transmission is designed as a racing upgrade, not a bashing upgrade. The Gladiators would definitely be close but Badlands & Trenchers are great options too!

I bought the proline performance transmission but haven't completed my build to use it yet. Its a 4pole 4000kv 3S build. I was told by guys on URC that I will blow this tranny unless I get the steel Idler gear and AE slipper clutch so I bought the robinson steel idler gear but am yet to find a slipper clutch upgrade. Can you comment on this? Is this transmission able to handle 3S power with its plastic idler gear? Why would you guys do this when stock magnum trans even uses metal idler?

Just ordered the 78 tooth spur gear. I'm assuming a 24 or 25 tooth pinion will be about right.
I'm assuming the 78 tooth spur gear is still a 48 pitch, correct?
