This video introduces the organisational structures for the service desk function as explained in the ITIL v3 volume Service Operation.
The video is one out of a series of study aids for students studying the topic ITI597 with Charles Sturt University.
The ITI597 module is provided in a dynamic online and real-time interactive environment, and supported with a virtual study environment located in SecondLife space, and videos such as these.
As subject coordinator I provide live web based sessions for all ITI597 students at least once a week, and strongly support any multimedia technology that makes blended and passionate learning a reality.

  • malikaltafhussain I believe its because the virtual service desk are also working from home so on call effectively. Thats 24/7 support with zero overlaps I guess although I agree its confusing.

  • @elliscg Yes, those working on a virtual service desk, can say bye bye to their normal life, as they'll be working 24x7 - day and night hahahaha... What a world!

  • I am confused about the answer at the end of video. why the right answer is Virutal service desk and not the Follow the sun.

    Could you also add video for the ITIL v3 Syllabus ITILMD04-04-4 (Service Stuctures) and also ITILMD04-04-5 (Service Strategy Fundamentals)
