No!! He is Ethiopian

Roha Band kept the Ethiopian music scene going during the dictatorship of Mengistu Hailemariam, they backed every singer in Ethiopia. They recorded mostly at night times during the curfew hours, when every body slept Roha were cooking hits. They have many cassettes but only one cd a must have during their tour in America in 90th. Also, look for Mahmoud's live in Paris that's the greatest live Ethiopian album ever recorded and Mahmoud Tizita vol. 1 & 2, Roha influence still can be seen 2day.

Mehamoud is the best and the greatest.

Mahamoud is truly an impressive entertainer. I saw him in San Diego this year and the man was phenomenal. The man sand for three hours nonstop. His voice was the same as 44 years ago when he started singing. I am glad he finally received the recognition he deserves. I know his reputation was in peril because some pple accused him of being a crony to the current government. Aye- Yegna sew!
