The son of Libya's president says that the Libyan government would resist demands for compensation for the families of people killed by Libyan explosives supplied to the Irish Republican Army. (Sept. 7)

If Libya has to compensate these victims then the Brits will have to pay out to the thousands of victims of paramilitaries they've funded throughout the world. They include the loyalists in Northern Ireland and the Shia death squads in Iraq. The Yanks would have to pay out the victims of the mujahideen they funded in Afghanistan and the Shia who suffered at the hands of the Ba'ath militia in Iraq to name just a couple.

Maybe Libya should just pay out and let the knock on effect take place then?
