Sorry to disappoint you. But Reagan did not use the conservative tool in his years. He really tried and I'll give him credit for that. But in the end, rather using the tool he became one.

Liberty is an ideology, conservatism is the tool to make that ideology a reality. Unfortunately we haven't had anyone use the conservative tool properly or at all for the last 60 years.

Actually that's not entirely true what libertarianism is about. First, historically, social issues were never the main course of the American politics. Liberal started this myth back in the 60's to divide this country up as they infiltrated the GOP. Second, just because I have a libertarian view doesn't make me a liberal on social issues. After all, I can be both socially and politically conservative. The message of libertarian is simple.....leave me the hell alone.

@ashleyjohnston Well a lot of Libertarians lead to a more conservative mind set, mostly because conservatism in markets is a very effective mindset :) That's what's great about libertarianism. Conservatism in government, liberal in social issues.
