My mom cooked depression foods too and shared with the neighborhood. She made kidney stew, chicken popeye(pot pie) that was made with homemade dough and then rolled out into a wide "noodle". I'm sure you make that too :)
I still watch your videos and can't get enough of them. I wish you were my grammy :)

It was a SIN to throw away bread. So when scraps were thrown away or a piece of bread fell on the floor by accident my Grandmother Marianna Arena DiFilippi (who also had gleaming white teeth, just like Clara)would "Kiss it up to God"to ask forgivness.

Clara, YOU HAVE SHINING GREAT TEETH!
A proof you have been eating good and healthy food.

I wish I could be like you when I'm in ninety. It must take a lot of practice and great intelligence. I wish I could be near your so that I could learn from you directly.

When someone was new on the job they were often referded to as green. It comes from farming , as in not ripe still to green to pick.. so she was green (new) on the job but she marked her work with a yellow marker

Clara, the house next door to us is for sale, please come move in!! Video treasure here. Besides the wonder that is Clara, it's so fun to check out the cozy kitchen and all of its pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Fact: Rice Krispies at home, meh. Rice Krispies at Grandma's=magic!!! Can't wait till dandelion time rolls around again...
