Held over two nights at City Live Fox Studios in Sydney 9th & 10th March 2001, the 'Gimme Ted' shows demonstrated the universal love and respect that Ted commanded, and they brought together some of the biggest names in Australian music including Sherbet, Ross Wilson, Russell Morris, Kevin Borich, Members of The Angels, The Masters Apprentices, Richard Clapton, Ian Moss, Jon Stevens, John Paul Young and Billy Thorpe and a few more rock icons, with comperes Glenn A. Baker, Donnie Sutherland and Ray Burgess, and a special appearance by Steve Mulry with TMG ... Hour after hour the roar was relentless, as one Oz Rock icon after another took to the stage to celebrate a life in music, their performances were given extra edge by the occasion and by the indefatigable audience ... It was a night of stellar singers and powerhouse bands reformed or still rocking dispensing blistering and sometimes unexpected sets ... Sadly, the benefit was to be Ted's last public appearance, but the ailing star watched with pride and joy from the wings as a generation of Australia's finest performers did him proud and said "thanks".
They sure rock! LOVE their music - so talented! And they're among those with the true talent, whose music can and is enjoyed by those who weren't even born around that time.. Wonder how many of today's groups can the same be said for in say, 10, 20, even 30 years time?
