  • CHIMESTERDOTCOM- what's your opinion on using raw kefir whey vs raw whey?

  • @shidlkrim taht is what we use, made from kefir. the other method would be a boiled milk with lemon juice .i,m guessing.

  • I use kefir grains, do you guys make kefir? Don't have access to raw milk, so I just use pasteurized, but the grains are living and transform it. I am trying to figure out how to separate the whey from the kefir and make a product that way..

  • no grains. we dont separate when its ready, you get almost the same thing. i use the soured milk for my smoothies.

  • i don't get what one can use the whey for? fermented sweet potato, what is that?

so, all one has to do is let teh milk sit out for 4 days? no adding lemon juice or vinegar? thats it? and it is safe to consume ?

  • @vitabellak that i donno. we use unbleached cheese cloth. sometimes i use my sox too. ha, just kidding...

  • Honey and all "natural" sweetners are to be avoided. Read Nancy Appleton's books. This is the only thing about which I disagree with the Weston Price Foundation.

  • sometimes it is milky, sometimes some milky stuff floating only on top, sometimes as you can see it in the video.

  • I'll have some cherry cheese blintzes please...mmm....mmmm...mmmm

I also like to use my whey to make tea soda. Add a few tbsps of whey to a quart jug, add 1/3 cup sugar, any kind, water to fill and a few tbsps of loose tea, herbal or orange pekoe---even rose petals or any other flower that is blooming in my yard.

Let it sit for 2 days and it ferments most of the sugar making a lovely iced tea recipe that is not real sweet and is also very good for you.

    Thanks for the video.

  • Yes, yes, I'm sorry for being unclear, I meant that I liked that you showed the images of the process in it's different stages because it was helpful for me. Thank you again for doing these!
