Solar charge controller melted when I gave it twice its rated input. It is rated for a 7 amp input and I hit it with 16 amps.

  • those sunelectric charge regulators suck anyway, your better off without it.

    get a MPPT charger, vs. the sunelectric's PWM charging. MPPT can glean anywhere from 10-30% better efficiency from your panels

    I am just starting to get involved with solar. and my 10 amp charge controller hopefully does not have the same fate.
