You should tell your friend with the purple jersey to watch the eight of the seat. He's pedaling on his toes with leg fully extended. Also he should to either buy a smaller bike or adjust the seat at least 2 inches forward. He's sitting way too far back.

Well the climb isn't really breathtaking but its just if you legs can take them.
